I started this painting back in June 2018 when I was doing the market table at Granville Island just before we made our big move to Calgary. Mom saw a very early work-in-progress photo that had no more than a single purple petal and said she’d really like it to have it when I finished it.
Unfortunately it became one of those paintings that I picked up and put down again simply because I can be a rather distracted artist. I always remembered though that Mom had asked for it, so I kept coming back to chip away at it. In the end, I probably spent far, FAR more time with it than I have with most of my paintings and I’m really happy with the final result.
